James Lee Skinner

James Lee Skinner was born February 2, 1923 in Westminster, Texas to Benjamin F. Skinner and Grace Pinion Skinner. He married Edith Evelyn Biggerstaff on March 20, 1946 in Sherman, Texas. He died Monday, July 06, 2015 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas at the age of 92.

James was a life long farmer and rancher. He bought his first cow when he was 12 years old and was never without a cow after that time. He worked hard all his life. James and Edith were partners in life for 66 years, doing everything together. She was always with him, helping him with anything on the farm. They loved each other dearly and the people in their communty. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by sister, Jean Sims of Farmersville; nieces and nephews, Ricky Sims of Farmersville; Butch Morgan of Whitewright; Alan Biggerstaff of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; David Biggerstaff of Quinlan; Michael Biggerstaff of Norman, Oklahoma; John Robert Biggerstaff of Jacksonville, Florida; Jane Biggerstaff of Whitewright; Betty Jo Byers of Flagstaff, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife Edith Skinner; parents; brother, Thurman Skinner; and sister, Glenderl Reed.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00am, Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, Whitewright, Texas. Officiating the service will be Mr. Frazier Conley. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Whitewright, Texas. Pallbearers will be Butch Morgan, Rusty Morgan, Alan Biggerstaff, David Biggerstaff, Michael Biggerstaff, John Robert Biggerstaff, Ricky Sims, Steve Byers, and Matthew Pond.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 6-8pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Whitewright, Texas.
