Mr. James Henry Pruitt, Jr. age 64, of Plano, Texas went home to be with the Lord on April 17, 2009, at his home. He was born on June 13, 1944, in Fort Dix, New Jersey the son of James Henry Pruitt, Sr. and Loretta Dale (Cross) Pruitt, both Assembly of God ministers. Mr. Pruitt served in the U.S. Army, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. On May 14, 1988, he married Joyce Dorland Moreland in Irving, Texas. In January 2008, he retired after 21 years of service as an air frame mechanic at L3 Communications in Greenville, Texas. He was a devout member of the Cross Bend Christian Church in Plano. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; children, Deborah Dorland of Richwood, WV, Jeffery Moreland of Plano, TX and Douglas Moreland of Tyler, TX; grandchildren, Heidi Koling of Los Angeles, CA, Jeremy Koling of Charlotte, NC, Jessica Reagan of Tyler, TX, and Kristopher Moreland of Conroe, TX; brothers, Tony Pruitt of Cedar Hill, TX and David Pruitt of Frisco, TX; sister, Sheila White of Garland, TX; and several nieces, nephews and a host of other family and many friends. His parents and granddaughter, Sarah Moreland preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Cross Bend Christian Church in Plano with Rev. Tom Mullenix officiating. The family will receive friends for a visitation at 6:00 p.m. Monday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow funeral home. Interment with military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday at DFW National Cemetery in Grand Prairie Texas.
