James Hulen Moore, age 73, of McKinney, Texas, passed away January 2, 2009, peacefully at his home in McKinney. James was born September 13, 1935, in Groveton, Texas to James Carrol and Cora Elizabeth (Burke) Moore. He married Wanda Holt on April 6, 1973 in Plano, Texas. James was an independent contractor for the Dallas Morning News. He proudly served in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Wanda of McKinney; children, Gina Cardwell and her husband Ralph of Squeezepenny, Texas, Michael Porter and his wife, Kristi of Garland, Texas, Jimmy Moore and his wife, Jackie of Mesquite, Texas, and Tammy Carr and her husband David of Anna, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer, Mark, Jessica, Brittany, Cassie, Katie, Christopher, Henry and MJ; and great-grandchildren, London, Mason, and Gabriella; brother and sisters, LaWanda Duggan and husband, Bill of Murphy, Texas, Jean Coon and husband, Ed of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Doug Moore and wife, Bessie of Conroe, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Cora Moore, sister, Sylvia Eames and her husband Don, and brothers, Arthur Wayne Moore and Kenneth Moore. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Rev. Glenn Little officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation to be held from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday evening.
