James Alvin Minchey

Funeral services for James Alvin Minchey, 69 year old Leonard resident, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday December 20th at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard. Rev. Dolan Thornhill, Jr. and Rev. Joel R. Pitts will officiate. Burial will be in the Leonard Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday December 19th. Mr. Minchey died Wednesday December 17th at the Red River Regional Hospital at Bonham. Mr. Minchey was born June 6, 1939 at Leonard. His parents were Charles Hughie and Maggie Malverata Shaffer Minchey. He married Wanda Pitts November 23, 1960 at Leonard, Texas. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Van Alstyne, Texas and he served his country as a member of the United States Army. He is survived by his wife: Wanda Minchey of Leonard, Tx.; his sons: Curtis Wayne Minchey of Whitewright, Tx. and James Kevin Minchey of Wylie, Tx.; his daughters: Carol Deaver of Van Alstyne, Tx., Laura Michele Franke of Oak Point, Tx. and Jamie LeeAnn Minchey of Leonard, Tx.; his brother: Royce Minchey of Leonord, Tx.; his sisters: Frances Estes of Abilene, Tx., Lois Sims of Whitewright, Tx. and Sue Richerson of Allen, Tx.; his grandchildren: Marc Carden of Providence, Tx., Ashley Minchey of Whitewright, Tx., Troy Minchey of Tom Bean, Tx., Melody Bolton of El Paso, Tx., Cassie Deaver of Van Alstyne, Tx., Ryan Minchey of Whlie, Tx., Benjamin Minchey of Wylie, Tx., Seth Franke of Oak Point, Tx. and Hanna Franke of Oak Point, Tx. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Charles and Joseph Minchey. Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home of Leonard is in charge of arrangements.
