James Lee "Bill" McLeod

Mr. James Lee “Bill” McLeod, age 92, of Mandeville, Louisiana passed away on April 2, 2004, in Mandeville. He was born on May 15, 1911, in Lewisville, Texas to James Abner and Florence (Trimble) McLeod. He married Beverly Durrum on May 16, 1989, in Lucas, Texas. He served in the U.S. Marines and was a veteran of WWII. Mr. McLeod was a 32nd Mason and a member of the Allen Lodge Shriner. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Allen. Mr. McLeod is survived by his step-sons, Tim King and wife, Kay of Mendeville and Bill King and wife, Pam of Austin, Texas; step-daughter, Sandy Bennett of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; grandchildren, Tom Gaylord McLeod of Florida, Kathy McLeod of Carrollton, Texas, Nina Raef of Dallas, Texas, Daniel Almon of McKinney, Texas, Hanna King of Austin, Ashlee King of Dallas, Keith Keeper, Kellie Austin, and Kenny Kepper all of Baton Rouge; and great grandchildren, Troup McLeod of Florida, Caroline McLeod of Carrollton, Taylor Almon, Derrick Almon, David Raef, and Robin Raef all of Dallas. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas McLeod; 1st wife, Nina McLeod; brother, Lester McLeod, parents; and great granddaughter, Dina Almon. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, April 5, 2004, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Bob Collingsworth officiating. Interment will follow at DFW National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, Sunday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
