James P. Little

James P. Little also known as “Old Dawg” and “Popsie”, of McKinney passed away August 6, 2012 at the age of 83. He was born July 10, 1929 to James Wilson and Sallie Mae (Wilbanks) Little in Sulphur Springs, Texas.   He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. James married Betty Jean Burch Little on August 7, 1948 in McKinney, Texas. His career included Phillips Oil Company and Collins-Rockwell for nineteen years as a maintenance supervisor. James was known as the “Dragon Slayer” by his colleagues at Rockwell. One of his greatest passions was being a “Ham” radio operator and his handle was “K5BAI”. He was the past Master Mason for the Princeton Masonic Lodge and held membership with the Farmersville Masonic Lodge.

James is survived by his son, James M. Little of Blue Ridge; daughter, Lisa Little Allen and husband Ira of McKinney, Texas; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Betty J. Little.

A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Wilson Chapel Cemetery in Lowry Crossing.
