James Martin Lindsay

James Martin Lindsay, beloved husband and father, died on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the age of 80. He was born on July 20, 1935 in San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Florence Marie Lindsay and is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years Barbara Sue Lindsay, his daughter Jennifer Sue Lindsay, his nieces Laura Gayle Harkey and Leslie Sue McCord, and brother-in-law Gunther Erich Reins. He graduated from San Antonio’s Brackenridge High School in the class of 1953 and Texas A&M University in the class of 1957 where he was commissioned into the United States Army. After completing his active military service as a 1st Lieutenant, Jim embarked on his civilian career by working for the United States Air Force in San Antonio on operational efficiency studies and the United States Navy in Washington, D.C on the Polaris missile project. Jim moved to McKinney in 1992 after retiring from a 25-year career with NASA at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center where he served as a budget analyst on multiple Gemini, Apollo, and Space Shuttle missions. He was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in McKinney. Jim was a loving and devoted husband and father. The family thanks and praises God for his life and all he brought to those who loved him.

  • The Association of Former Students at 505 George Bush Drive, College Station, TX 77840 in memory of James Martin Lindsay ’57 sent to the attention of Lauren Pope.

A memorial service will be held at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in McKinney at 11:00 on Saturday, January 30, 2016.
