IN LOVING MEMORY

James Monroe Lang, III

Apr 02 1937 - Aug 23 2014

James Monroe Lang, III, age 77, of DeSoto, Texas, passed away August 23, 2014.  James was born April 2, 1937, in Princeton, Texas, to James Monroe and Alma Helen (Forte) Lang, Jr.  He retired as a chief electrician from Texas Power Light after thirty years. A man of honor whose family was his greatest joy.  He didn't tell us how to live our lives he showed us how by the way he lived his.  He lived his whole life using his hands to create.  He used them to earn a living and he used them to create memories; memories of handmade fishing polls, bird houses, display cases and wooden step-stools for grandchildren.  It didn't matter the actual item being made, it was the making of memories that mattered most to him.  He will forever be with us in the memories made and the treasured pieces that he so carefully created.

He is survived by his daughters, Jami Tillery and husband, Phillip of Fruitvale, Texas, Teri Wilde and husband, Jarrett of Wichita Falls, Texas, Juli Lang DeMoss and husband, Baron Acker of Athens, Texas, and Lori Lang of Maud, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jessica Montgomery, Lyndsi Skiles and husband, Scott, Britney Fields and husband, Rob, Phillip Tillery, Chasity De Moss and boyfriend, Dustin Lambert, Malissa Bouyi and husband, Emerson, Austin Wilde, Nicholas Hulshouser, and Dylan Hulhouser; and great-grandchildren, Bree Anna, Harper, Slade, and Carston.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Glenn Wade Lang.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 29, 2014, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen.  The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home.
