IN LOVING MEMORY

James "Jimmy" A. Maselli

Sep 01 1982 - Mar 08 2015

James (Jimmy) Anthony Maselli, 32 years old, a faithful servant of the Lord, peacefully and mercifully passed from this earthly life to his permanent home in Heaven to be with Jesus on Sunday, March 8, 2015.

Jimmy was born on September 1, 1982 in Huntington, NY to Diana and James Maselli. Jimmy graduated from Marcos Deniza High School in Tempe, AZ. where he excelled in baseball, wrestling and auto shop.

Jimmy loved sports, especially his beloved New York Yankees. He also loved to work on the BMX bikes he collected and restored. He shared his love of baseball and bikes with all his children, and he will forever be remembered by these priceless hobbies!

Jimmy and his family moved from Arizona to Texas in 2006, in search of a fresh start and more productive life for their children. In 2008, the family became members of Genesis Metro Church in Frisco where they faithfully served weekly. Jimmy and his wife, Joy, loved to work and serve together. In 2011, their entrepreneurial spirit was ignited as they established Maselli’s Coffee House. They turned their passion for food and service into a successful business for a few years, before closing its doors to focus on serving their family and their church as leaders of the GM Perks Coffee Bar. Jimmy and Joy were always available to help those in crisis situations, and were faithful servant-leaders through Marriage Mentors. Their godly counsel and sound advice helped to save many marriages through the years.

Jimmy was an extremely loyal and faithful businessman, working hard until the very end. Even recently, working towards a promotion to provide a more secure lifestyle for his family.

Jimmy’s steadfast faith in God and his loyalty to family stand as strong pillars in the Maselli home. Jimmy taught their children the importance of praying and living in the Word of God daily, and they continue to live out his fierce loyalty to family, and his rich love for the God he so deeply believed in and served.

Jimmy worked hard to instill a high respect for responsibility and independence in each of his children. Their daughter, Valerie, is the apple of his eye, and their sons, Nathan and Mikey, are his best and closest buddies. He loved spending time with his children, and was very proud of their accomplishments. He loved them unconditionally! Their family loves to have fun, and family nights are a big deal at the Maselli house! These nights of popcorn, movies and games have made many memories for them to relish; memories of special times with Jimmy that Joy and the kids will treasure forever.

Jimmy leaves behind his lovingly devoted wife, Joy, who shares the same desire to serve others as he did; their daughter, Valerie; their son, Nathan, who faithfully prayed for and witnessed God’s miracle of Jimmy’s brother’s salvation while at the hospital as Jimmy courageously fought for his life, and their son, Mikey, who is full of life, love and laughter and who carries Jimmy’s spirit with him. Their children love to pray, read scripture, and serve others just as they witnessed their father do independently and in partnership with Joy.

Jimmy is also survived by his grandfather, George Maselli; his father, James Maselli and his wife, Donna; his mother, Diana Abate Bhattacharyya and her husband, Bidyut; his sister, Deanna Maselli and her children, Frankie, Ashlyn and Joey Flores; his brother, Nicky Maselli and his children Anthony, Jimmy and Nicky Maselli; and many aunts and uncles, and brothers and sisters in Christ. Preceding Jimmy in death is his grandmother, Ann Abate.

While Jimmy worships our Lord face-to-face, we know that his prayer would be that we serve our Lord steadfastly and faithfully here on earth. Let us continue to serve as Jimmy served.

2 Timothy 4:7 sums up Jimmy’s service to the Lord while on earth, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

Family and friends are invited to a Visitation at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
