James "Jim" E. Houser

Mr. James E. Houser (Jim), age 76, of McKinney, Texas went to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 21, 2007 in McKinney surrounded by his family. He was born November 22, 1930 in Indianola, Oklahoma to Samuel James and Pauline (Melton) Houser. On December 24, 1952, Jim married Elizabeth Johnson in Madera, California. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. His work career spanned 40 years with Rockwell International in California and later in Texas. A true American success story, Mr. Houser started as an assembly line operator and rose to his eventual position as Vice President of Operations. He earned his MBA from Pepperdine University. He had a passion for excellence that was featured in his work ethic and his personal life. Mr. Houser’s leadership strongly impacted many personal and professional lives. Mr. Houser enjoyed golfing, remodeling, spending time with his grandchildren, and had served as a mason. He cherished his wife of nearly 55 years. He was passionate about his family and loved them deeply. The family would especially like to thank all of caregivers at Homestead of McKinney and Heart to Heart Hospice. They are truly angels on earth. They also would like to thank everyone for the many prayers, for they have been answered. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Houser of McKinney, Texas; children, Pam Houser, Keith Houser and his wife Stacy, Sandy Pereira and her husband David, grandchildren, Ryan Houser, Russell Houser, Reid Houser and Alissa Pereira, all of McKinney, Texas; sister, Margaret Lee and her husband Len of Bakersfield, California; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be held 4:00 PM, Thursday, April 26, 2007 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel with Senior Pastor Bruce Miller of McKinney Fellowship Bible Church officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Wednesday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation Wednesday evening beginning at 7 PM.
