James "Jim" Craig Blazier

James “Jim” Craig Blazier, age 65, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on February 23, 2012.  Jim was born December 30, 1946, in West Monroe, Louisiana, to James Monroe and Mary Ione (Craig) Blazier.  On August 30, 1980, he married Tamara Jan Adkins, in Longview, Texas.  Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He retired from Lucent Technologies in 2001 where he was employed for thirty-five years.  Jim was involved in Kiwanis; serving as President and as a member of the board of directors.  He was a member of Waddill Street Baptist Church in McKinney since 1992, where he was a Sunday school teacher, trustee, deacon, and minister of the senior adults.  More than anything, Jim loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Tamara Blazier; son, James Micheal Blazier and wife, Lupe of Caddo Mills, Texas; daughters, Traci D’Anne Hill and husband, Cass of Saginaw, Texas and Dawn Blazier of Rockwall, Texas; grandchildren, Chase Carlson, Chandler Carlson, and Ryan Blazier; step-mother, Alice Blazier; sister, Sharna Blazier; brother, Shawn Blazier and wife Carol; and numerous other loving family members.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Albert Blazier and Dennis Blazier.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2012, at Waddill Street Baptist Church in McKinney, Texas with Rev. Rick Ballard and Dr. Woody Wilson officiating.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.  The family will receive friends during a visitation, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2012, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
