James Edward Foley

James Edward Foley, age 79, of McKinney, Texas, passed away December 6, 2009, in McKinney. James was born November 4, 1930, in Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania, to George Dewey and Margaret (Murray) Foley. He grew up in Cannonsburg and graduated from Notre Dame University with a bachelor degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. James was discharged from the Air Force and went to work for Cessna in Kansas City. He later moved to Detroit, Michigan to work for Chrysler in their space program. James retired from Chrysler, after working with NASA in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a member of the Slidell Gliders Club and was an avid golfer. He is survived by his daughters, June Foley and husband, Tom Konda of Plattsburgh, New York, Anne Lestelle and husband, Tom of Houston, Texas, Ellen Clark and husband, KC of Slidell, Louisiana, and Margaret Martin and husband, Anthony of Plano, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, George Dewey Foley of Aubrey, Texas and John Foley of Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania; sister, Abigail Moore of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, George Dewey Foley. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
