Jakie Vance Mills, age 71, formerly of Allen, Texas, passed away December 15, 2008, in Dallas, Texas. Jakie was born July 20, 1937 in Celina, Texas to John Preston and Evelyn Earl (Tillerson) Mills. He retired from Texas Instruments as a Production Planner. Jakie was also a member of Fellowship Bible Church. He is survived by his daughter, Terri L. Lovell of Grand Prairie, Texas; son, Michael V. Mills and wife, Cindy of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Karen K. Ghent and husband, Rick of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; brothers, Jackie Mills of Holly Lake, Texas, Jerry Mills of Mead, Oklahoma, and Larry Mills of Plano, Texas; sisters, Linda Long of Richardson, Texas and Loretta Robertson of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Grant Mills, Preston Mills, Rachael Ghent, Raleigh Ghent, Ashley Carpenter, and Chelsea Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn Mills, wife, Pam Mills, and infant son. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina, Texas with Rev. Cliff Lester officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home on Highway 75 in Allen, Texas.
