IN LOVING MEMORY

Jacklin Diana Vaughan

Jul 05 1941 - Jul 30 2015

On the evening of July 30, 2015, Jacklin “Jan” Diana Vaughan was received into the loving arms of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born in Dallas on July 5, 1941, to Johnnie Wendell “Jack” and Vera Aloma (Whitley) McCarty, she was the light of our lives – the most caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend that God could have sent our way.

Jan graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1959. Her life-path coupled motherhood with real-estate broker-ship. A dear friend and colleague has expressed that Jan born with an MLS Book in her hand! She was active in her profession for over three decades.

Jan was an avid reader and a lifelong learner, with a special interest in politics and current events. She had been immensely blessed, over the past five years, by the immersion in Scripture and the sweet support that she received as a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF). While she had been looking forward very much to studying the Book of Revelation this fall, we are comforted in the knowledge that she now sits at the feet of the Master Teacher. Jan bore the challenges presented by her illness with the upmost faith and grace, inspiring all of those near her.

Missing her greatly are her beloved husband, Robert P. Vaughan, Sr. of Plano; daughter, Holly Valadez (Orlando), of Aurora; grandson, Owen Michael Wootten and granddaughter, Mary Emily Valadez; step-son, Robert P. Vaughan II (Dee Dee) of Rowlett and her precious Lilly Marlene, of Plano. Also grieving her passing are children, Phillip K. Brown, of Richardson; Heather Isenhower (Gary) , of Cypress and J. Jason Brown (Yulia) of Allen; brother, the Rev. H.D. McCarty, (Shirley) of Fayetteville, Arkansas; niece, Karen Anderson (The Rev. Mark), of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, twelve grandchildren and a warm circle of friends.

Jan was welcomed to Heaven by her parents; grandson, Patrick O. Valadez; her amazing aunt, Helen Whitley Varney; nephew, Kevin D. McCarty and her dear sister in Christ, Oleta Faye Wootten.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and chaplains of Vitas Hospice Care, who supported her during her final days on earth.

A graveside service was held August 20, 2015 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in a Dallas, Texas. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
