Jackie Myars, age 72, of McKinney, Texas, passed away January 26, 2011, in McKinney. Jackie was born March 21, 1938, in McKinney, Texas, to Jack and Minnie Belle (Summers) Myars. He married Mary Elizabeth Moorhead on May 16, 1958, in McKinney, Texas. Jackie made a career as a machine operator at Capitol Wire and Cable in Plano, Texas. In the 60’s and 70’s, Jackie enjoyed dirt track racing. He was a member of East McKinney/Hillcrest Christian Church in McKinney for over sixty years. He is survived by his wife, Mary Myars of McKinney, Texas; sons, Mark Myars and wife, Sherri of Princeton, Texas and Scott Myars of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Sherry Ross and husband, Michael of Caddo Mills, Texas; grandchildren, Darrell Ramirez of McKinney, Texas, Michael Ross and wife, Ciara also of McKinney, Kelsi Ross of Caddo Mills, Texas, and Kristofor Nash, of Mineola, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Falyn Ramirez, Maddox Ramirez, and Maddison Ross. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jackie Kevin Myars. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 31, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the funeral home.
