Jackie F. "Jack" Woods

Jackie Francis (Jack) Woods devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather was born on November 4, 1933 in McKinney, Texas to Ruby Maye Furr Woods and Elzy Lee (Kali) Woods. The 1952 graduate of McKinney Boyd High School and retired owner of the Woods Motel in McKinney died with dignity, surrounded by love, on October 5, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Jackie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Martha Mullins Woods of McKinney, and his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who were his pride and joy. They include daughter Ginger Ebinger and her sons Michael Dixon and Jonathan Ebinger of Allen, TX and her daughter Kileigh Even and her husband Tye and their children Haden and Faith of Princeton, TX; daughter Jill Abernathy and her husband Richard and their daughter Lydia of McKinney; Jane Austin and her husband Bill and their daughters Ruby Davis and Maggie Austin of McKinney, and Ansley Suarez and her husband Drew of Davidson, North Carolina and their daughter Caroline; daughter Julie Jacobsen and her husband David and their children Kaleb, Saida, Eli, and Ben of Wimberley, TX; and Jeff Woods and his wife Lisa and their children Jackie and Autumn of Eagle, CO. Jackie’s other survivors include his brother, Robert (Bob) Woods of Upper Marlboro, MD; brother-in-law, Herman Mullins and wife Bobbie of Whitewright, TX; sister-in-law Carol Woods of Waco, TX; and mother-in-law, Louise Jones of McKinney. He also enjoyed close relationships with many nieces and nephews and their families.

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother (and best friend), Jimmy, with whom he shared a life-long love of golfing, fishing, and camping especially at 30-Mile Campground in Colorado. 

A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
