Jack Landrum Roper

Mr. Jack Landrum Roper, age 87, of Anna, Texas, passed away June 25, 2006, in McKinney, Texas. He was born February 7, 1919, in Anna to Burl E. and Lula Mae (Hendricks) Roper. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II serving in the Aleutian Islands and the Phillipines. On October 29, 1955, he married Stormy Rivers in Lewisville, Texas. Mr. Roper was a farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church in Anna. He is survived by his wife, Stormy Roper of Anna, Texas; children, Mitzi Lewis and husband, David of McKinney, Texas, and Landrum Roper of Howe, Texas; grandchildren, Keith Roper of Mansfield, Texas, Shannon Alexander and husband, Daniel of Kannapolis, North Carolina; Alandra Roper and Lane Roper, both of Howe, Texas; and sister, Norma Jean Hall and husband, Harold of Anna, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, George, Jim, and Bob Roper; and 9 sisters, Mary Webster, Johnny Barton, Ruth Adams, Martha Edmondson, Ann Beazley, Frances Moats, and Lovita, Dolly, and Alma Roper. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 28, 2006, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Jim J. Templin officiating. Interment will follow at Stoney Point Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 7 to 9:00 P.M., Tuesday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
