Jack Lambrecht

Jack Lambrecht, age 94 of Plano, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 4, 2012.  He was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1917.

Jack was a decorated veteran, serving in WWII from 1941 through 1945.  As a glider pilot, with the 76th TCS, he served in campaigns in Sicily, Normandy, Southern France, Holland, Bastogne, the Rhine Crossing, and Central Europe.

Jack and his late wife, Marian, moved to Austin in 1945 and were based at Bergstrom Air Force Base.  He retired from the USAF Reserve in 1970 as a Lt. Colonel.  He spent his post-military years in the construction business in Austin before retiring in 1987.

Jack is survived by his daughter Barbara Lyons and husband Gary of Crozet, Virginia; son Mark Lambrecht and wife Cathy and grandson Todd Lambrecht of Plano, Texas; grandson David Lambrecht of Royce City, Texas; great granddaughter Hannah of McKinney, Texas; great granddaughter Lauren and great great granddaughter, Kaelyn of Frisco, Texas.  Jack is also survived by his nephew Chris Lambrecht of Atlanta, Georgia.

Inurnment services with military honors will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 11:30am at the  Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway Dallas, TX 75211. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
