Jack Hackler, age 86, of Fairview, Texas passed away September 17, 2012. He was born January 26, 1926 in Pittsburg, Texas to John Norby Hackler and Margaret Ruby (Bullard) Hackler. He was a decorated combat infantry veteran of World War II. On April 7, 1951 he married Gwendolyn J. O’Gwin in Texarkana, Arkansas.
He is survived by his sons, Tim Hackler and wife, Roxanne of Austin, Texas, Buddy Hackler and wife, Cristina of Cape Coral, Florida, Matt Hackler and wife, Dee of Arlington, Texas; daughter-in-law Ann Murphy of Westminster, Texas; grandchildren Brian Hackler of Austin, Texas, Rachel Hackler of Austin, Texas, Constance Hackler of Cape Coral, Florida, Catherine Hackler of Cape Coral, Florida, Cory Murphy of McKinney, Texas, Patrick Hackler of McKinney, Texas, Shaun Hackler of Arlington, Texas, Trey McKay of Arlington, Texas, Allison McKay of Gilmer, Texas, as well as numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his very special friend, Mary Harris of Allen, Texas.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his brother Bill Hackler of Longview, Texas.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30a.m., Friday, September 21, 2012 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas.
The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00-8:00p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that well-wishers make a donation to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in his name.
