Jack Eix

Jack Eix of Allen, Texas passed away December 9, 2013 at the age of 92.  He was born July 20, 1921 to William Frederick Eix and Minnie (Albright) Eix in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Jack and twin brother Paul attended Indiana University. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy as a Navy Pilot.  Jack was a member of the Quiet Bird Honorary Pilot Association. He was a graduate of Butler University.  Jack married Phyllis Jane Chapman on November 10, 1962 in Winchester, Massachusetts. They made their home and raised their sons in Dallas, Texas. He pursued a long career in sales and was a rep for Lone Star Container Corporation in Dallas for 25 years. Jack enjoyed coaching youth soccer and basketball, as well as boating and classic and fast cars. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church Allen, in the choir, the Friendship and Pathfinder Sunday school classes, the Men Talking fellowship, and ushering.

Jack is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Phyllis Eix of Allen; sons John William Eix and wife, Erin of Frisco, Texas, Steven Paul Eix and wife, Karolyn of Parker, Texas; daughter Eve Crosswhite and husband, Mike of Sherman, Texas; grandchildren, Cason, Ethan, Zachary, Emilie and Luke; step grandchildren, Kira and husband, Mark, Allie and Trey; nieces, Paula Rice of Bloomington, Indiana and Stephanie Montgomery and husband, Monty of Dallas, Texas.

He was precedeed in death by his parents, William and Minnie Eix and brothers, Bill and Paul Eix.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m, Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at First United Methodist Church, 601 S. Greenville, Ave, Allen, Texas.  Interment is to follow at  Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.  The family will receive friends during a visitation Monday evening, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.

The family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the First United Methodist Church Allen.
