Mr. J.W. “Buddy” Love, Jr., age 75, of McKinney, Texas went to be with His Lord on March 27, 2004 in McKinney. He was born on June 26, 1928 to Joneth William and Frankie Anus (Miller) Love, Sr. in McKinney, Texas. On July 8, 1948, he married Jessie M. Slate, who preceded him in death on August 19, 2000. He was a long time member of Dunn Memorial Baptist Church. He was active in farming and ranching all his life. He will be greatly missed by his loving brother and working partner, Ray Love of McKinney, Texas; sisters-in-law, Mary Hulon of Terrell, Texas, Minnie Slate of Pilot Point, Texas, Tessie Slate of Bonham, Texas, Pat Slate of Garland, Texas, Dora Slate of Angleton, Texas, Bea and Judy Love both of McKinney, Texas; brothers-in-law, Elbert Slate of Garland, Texas and Halbert Blurton of McKinney, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, some who called him “Uncle Buddy” others who called him “Uncle Dub”; and other extended family and close friends. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Love. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at the Dunn Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Sloan officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson Chapel Cemetery.
