J.C. Dunnam

J.C. Dunnam, age 73, of McKinney, Texas passed away May 14th, 2011. He was born August 5th, 1937 in Weston, Texas to Lee Dunnam and Maude E. (Hunsinger) Dunnam. J.C. grew up in Prosper, Texas and attended Prosper schools. He was a retired glass glazier from Sportsman Glass in McKinney, Texas for 35 years. J.C. attended Waddill Street Baptist Church where he was a charter member and deacon for many years. He was a faithful choir member and dedicated leader among the congregation for over 60 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara of 53 years; his children, Lisa Ables and her husband Price, and son, Jeffery Dunnam and his wife Lynn, both of McKinney, Texas; as well as his four grandsons, Josh Ables and his wife Stephanie of Anna, Texas, Chris Dunnam of Addison, Texas, Michael Dunnam of Frisco, Texas, and Matthew Dunnam of McKinney, Texas; one great-grandson, his little buddy, Tyler Price Ables of Anna, Texas, who all fondly remember him as Pa. He is also survived by his brother, James L. Dunnam and wife Maria of Lake Dallas, Texas; and sister, Charlotte Box and husband Gilbert of Amarillo, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, as well as a host of friends. J.C. was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Don, Willie, Milford, Herbert, and Edgar (Sonny) Dunnam; and his beloved oldest grandson, Jeffery Dunnam Jr. J.C. will be remembered as a great husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle and a friend, who loved life and his Lord. A celebration of his life will be held at Waddill Street Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 17th, at 2:00 p.m., with interment at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina, Texas. The family will be receiving guests at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home on Monday evening, May 16th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
