Isidro Ponse, age 92, passed away May 25, 2014 in McKinney, Texas. He was born on May 14, 1922 in McKinney, Texas to Santos and Vicenta Ponse. Isidro married Isabel Castro on April 8, 1944 in McKinney, Texas. He proudly served in the United States Army for two years. Isidro was an awesome and hardworking man. He was the best daddy ever to his children.
He is survived by his sons, Porfirio Ponse of Garland, Texas, Santos Ponse of Princeton, Texas, Eladeio Ponse of McKinney, Texas, Leandro Ponse of McKinney, Texas; daughters, Dora Martinez of Allen, Texas, Dominga Cisneros of McKinney, Texas, Mary Hughes of Albany, Oregon, Florencia Ponce of Midlothian, Texas, and Sandy Ponce of Bedford, Texas; sisters, Lupe Solis of McKinney, Texas, Fina Tanguma of McKinney, Texas, and Savina Partida of McKinney, Texas; twenty-eight grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Isidro was preceded in death by his wife, Isabel Ponse; daughter, Virginia Ponce; granddaughter, Jenny Diana Garcia; brothers, Juan Ponse, Frank Ponse, and Henry Ponse; sisters, Rafaela Fernandez and Petra Ponse.
A funeral service will be held Friday, May 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. A rosary service will be held Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation following the rosary service.
