Iris Redmon “Pokey”, was born October 20, 1930. She passed away at home, surrounded by her family, November 25, 2005. Pokey was a life long resident of Frisco, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Redmon, parents, Lucille and Elkin Mays, twin sisters, Ima Gene and Geraldine Mays, and her grandson, Johnathon Johnson. She is survived by her two children; Mark Redmon and wife Robin, Dianne Johnson and husband Bobby; five grandchildren; Bobby Johnson, Brandon Redmon, Eric Johnson, Lauren Redmon and Colby Redmon; two step-grandchildren, Courtney Weems and Nicole Redmon; four great- grandchildren, Hannah and Hunter Johnson, Jackson Redmon and Ronnie Johnson; sister, Evelyn Clark; brother, George Mays and a host of nieces and nephews Pokey was a member of the First Baptist Church of Frisco. She owned and operated a Beauty Shop in Frisco for 50 years and retired four years ago at age 71. “To our mom, until we meet again, your beautiful smile, your generous heart and the wonderful memories will live in our hearts forever.” Funeral Services will be Monday, November 28, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Frisco, Texas with Brother Gerald Griffen officiating. Interment will follow at Little Elm Cemetery in Little Elm, Texas. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, November 27, 2005 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Frisco.
