Funeral Services for Irene Stoehner Ivey, 80 year old Leonard resident, are scheduled for Monday July 14, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Valley Creek Baptist Church. Brother David Hawkins and Rev. James Seigler will officiate. Burial will be in the Allen’s Chapel Cemetery near Honey Grove, Texas. Family visitation will be Sunday July 13, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel at Leonard.
Irene was born October 2, 1933 at Honey Grove, Texas. Her parents were Herbert and Lydia Stoehner. She was a member of the Valley Creek Baptist Church and she worked at Southwestern Bell for 43 years before her retirement. She passed away at her residence Thursday July 10, 2014.
She is survived by her granddaughter and husband, Cassandra and Richard Akins of Leonard; her great grandsons: Zane Miller of Leonard, Jeremy Akins of Dallas and Keith Akins of Leonard; her great-great grandson: Tatum Akins of Wylie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Susan Ivey.
