Imogene Hale Booher

Imogene Hale Booher, 95, of McKinney, Texas, passed away February 21, 2016. Imogene was born September 5, 1920 in Allen Texas, to Seth and Stella Echols. She was raised in East Texas and was the oldest of five children. After high school, she married her high school sweetheart, “Red Hale”. She had three children, Jean, Bryan, Timothy and lived in the east and west Texas oilfield areas. Later, she and “Red” bought a ranch in central Arkansas and lived there until they retired to travel. After “Red’s” death, she married Art Booher and became “Gennie”. They lived in the Valley of Texas and also in St. Louis, Missouri. She enjoyed many years of music and travel with “Art” and his band. Imogene later moved to McKinney to be near her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Jean Stewart and husband James of McKinney, Texas, Timothy Earmon Hale and wife Missie of Hot Springs, Arkansas; grandchildren, Tema Counts and husband Gary, Mike Stewart and wife Melesa, Kathy Vanpool and husband Floyd, Greg Stewart and wife Teresa, Stephanie Barker and husband Steve, Tahna White and husband Greg; great-grandchildren, Garrett, Stewart, Jennifer, Jonathan, Dylan, Kymberly, Ben,Katie,Justin, Cesely, Rhett, Merideth, Hudson, and Henry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Red Hale, second husband, Art Booher, and son, Bryan Hale.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Henrys Chapel Cemetery in Troup, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 5:00- 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 23 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral home 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, 75013.
