Hui-Qun Wang

Hui-Qun Wang (???), age 69, of Allen, Texas, lost his battle with gallbladder cancer, due to complications of chemotherapy, on November 8, 2013, in Plano, Texas. Hui-Qun was born on January 30, 1944 in Shanghai, China. He graduated from medical school in 1966, with specialties in Internal Medicine and Cardiology; he practiced medicine in China for 20 years. In 1988, he came to U.S. as a visiting scholar, working at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York. He had more than five publications in the fields of molecule immunology and histopathology. From 2001 to 2007, he was the director of Research Histopathology Core at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He participated in more than twenty publications with other departments in cancer research. Before he retired, he worked as a senior research scientist at Sakura Pathology Lab Equipment in Torrance, California from 2007 to 2010. He was caring husband, loving father, and role model for his son.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ning-Ping Yang; son, Yi-Hao Wang and wife Hua Lin; grandchild, Sophia Wang; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow in Allen, Texas.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
