Mr. Hubert J. Walker, age 81, of McKinney, Texas passed away on February 24, 2004 in McKinney. He was born on December 20, 1922 to Lacy C. and Maggie (Keith) Walker in Farmersville, Texas. He attended East Texas State University and was a manufacturer’s representative for the Shadowline and Henson Apparel Companies. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was a veteran of WWII where he flew the P-51 “Mustang” fighter in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He is survived by his daughter, Lee Anne Turner and husband, Bill of Louisville, Kentucky; brother, Roy Lee Walker and wife, Annie Mae of McKinney, Texas; sister, Mary Ruth Mayne and Willie Spence of Mesquite, Texas; former wife, Fern Walker of Greely, Colorado; and an informally adopted son, Charles Tarver who has been his longtime helper and friend for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Dorothy Walker; brothers, Herman and John Walker; and nephew, Curtis Walker. Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 27, 2004 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morow Chapel with Rev. Coy Tarver and Rev. Danny Buster officiating. Interment followed at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
