IN LOVING MEMORY

Hubert Lloyd "Bud" Cain

Jul 27 1922 - Jul 15 2016

Hubert Lloyd (Bud) Cain joined Jesus and many loved ones in his Heavenly home on July 15, 2016.

Bud was born July 27, 1922 to Jesse and Hubert Cain.  He graduated from Allen High School. Bud served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corp and returned home to marry his wife of 67 years, Alma Jo Shaw Cain, in 1946. Bud then went on to graduate from Texas Christian University.

He and Alma made their home in McKinney where he continued to work for Texaco Inc. as both a consignee and oil distributor until his retirement. Bud and Alma were active members of First United Methodist Church in McKinney for over 70 years. He was also a member of the McKinney Kiwanis Club and served in several capacities over the years. Bud loved the lake and spent many years with family and friends on Lake Texoma.  At 55, he decided to take up snow skiing and spent many winters at Glorieta and resorts in Colorado and Europe.  Bud took great pride in being able to ski with all three of his grandchildren, and skied well into his seventies.

He loved golf and enjoyed playing often with his son, Greg. Bud also loved to travel and was often included on outings with his son-in-law, Joe.  He loved keeping up with those half his age and was known to play 36 holes on occasion. Those men nicknamed him “The Chief”.

Bud loved fine food and fine wine and spending time with his three grandchildren.  He even had the joy of visiting with his two great- granddaughters the week before his death.

Bud is survived by his son, Greg and wife Carol; daughter, Jana and husband Joe Crawford; three grandchildren, Marc Cain, Caitlin Crawford Hawk and husband Brandon, Patrick Crawford and wife Alexandra; two great-granddaughters, Cadence Claire and Adelyn Grace Hawk; and sister, Dorothy Gantt.

Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Alma; parents, Jesse and Hubert Cain; brothers, Pete and A.E.; a sister, Francis; and an infant sister, Jesse.
