Howard Pearl "Granny" Scalf

Howard Pearl “Granny” Scalf, age 98, of McKinney, Texas, passed away November 3, 2009, in McKinney. She was born September 15, 1911, to Ben and Nora Wade in Atoka, Oklahoma. She worked with Mrs. Vaughan who catered Kiwanis, Lions, and Rotary Clubs in McKinney. She is survived by four daughters, Margaret Boatright of Tool, Texas, Juanita Lewis, Nora Hibdon and her husband, Earnie, and Linda Meador, all of McKinney, Texas; son, Floyd Scalf, Jr. and his wife, Nevelin also of McKinney, Texas. Fondly remembered as Granny by her nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Floyd (Bill) Scalf, Sr., daughter, Fran Carpenter, grandson, Michael Boatright, sisters, Zena Turner and Rena Cook, and brother, Earl Wade. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 6, 2009 at Williams (Mt. Olive) Cemetery with Rev. Barry Boatright officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Thursday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
