Howard Morrison

Mr. Howard Morrison, age 85, of McKinney, Texas passed away June 11, 2010. He was born August 8, 1924, in Denton County, Texas to Henry Joseph and Martha Matilda (Thomas) Morrison. Mr. Morrison proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. On October 11, 1949, he married Alma Carpenter in McKinney. Mr. Morrison was a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service and a member of the Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alma; son and daughter-in-law, David and Sheila Morrison of McKinney; daughter and son-in-law, Leta and Jimmie Buchanan also of McKinney; grandchildren, Amy Crim, Laurie Enright, Jay Morrison, Russell Morrison, and Andrew Morrison; brother, Henry J. Morrison Jr. of Farmersville, Texas; sister, Beatrice Love of Gunter, Texas; 7 great grandchildren; and numerous other loving family members and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers and sisters, Wilford J. Morrison, Learoy Morrison, Ovalee Morrison, Lola Mae Fort and Ethel Faye Key. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 13, 2010, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Saturday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation Saturday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m.
