Honofre P. Cobarrubias

Honofre Perucho Cobarrubias, age 87, of Plano, Texas passed away March 17, 2010. He was born February 1, 1923 in Mindoro, Philippines to Gerardo and Fidela (Perucho) Cobarrubias. On November 22, 1947 he married Adelaida Macarandang in the Philippines. Honofre grew up in the Philippines where he attended Far Eastern University. He served in the Navy and fought with the American Forces in World War II and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He retired as a legal field investigator for the Social Security Administration while living in the Philippines. Honofre loved watching professional wrestling and enjoyed hunting wild boar. He raised cattle to help with his kid’s college tuition. He was an excellent deep sea diver. He loved ballroom dancing especially the Waltz, Rumba and the Tango. He was an excellent cook. Honofre was noted as a very fast typist, always helping his children with their homework. He was a very gentle and soft spoken man who loved his family dearly. Honofre was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Adelaida M. Cobarrubias of Plano, Texas; daughters, Nina Cobarrubias of Plano, Texas, Fe Norwood and husband, Mack of Plano, Texas, Irma Diosdado and husband, Phillip of Allen, Texas; son, Noel Cobarrubias and wife, Marissa of Dallas, Texas; sister, Josefina Dimatulac of the Philippines; grandsons, Brandon Norwood, Gabriel Cobarrubias and granddaughter, Abigail Diosdado. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 20, 2010 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Plano, Texas with Father Cliff Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary service beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
