Herbert L. Turner of Allen, Texas passed away May 19, 2011. He was born March 11, 1929 to Herbert S. and Edith Turner in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He graduated from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was in the Navy, Air Force, and Army Reserve. He retired from the military. Dad loved his family and was a good father. His hobbies were collecting coins and stamps, fishing, and when he had pigeons. Dad had a good sense of humor and loved to tell a good joke. He was a caring and compassionate person. He loved life even to the very end. He always said God had been good to him. He was saved on May 4, 2011. He is survived by his children, Teresa Gahm and husband, R. J. of Garland, Texas, Paul Turner and wife, Terri of Allen, Texas, and Tom Turner and wife, Sandra also of Allen, Texas; eight grandchildren, Randy and Curtis Hanley of Garland, Texas, Nick Turner and wife, Elissa of Dallas, Texas, Dan Turner, also of Dallas, Shelby, Abbey and Mady Turner all of Allen, Texas, and William Andrew Turner also of Allen; and sister, Loretta Turner of Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 3:15 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2011, at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
