Helen Louise Jones Hammer, age 86, of McKinney, Texas passed away February 16, 2006, in McKinney. She was born February 1, 1920, in Anna, Texas to Walter M. and Allie Mae (Pierson) Jones. She was a graduate of Van Alstyne High School. On June 8, 1944, she married Homer M. Hammer in Anna. Mrs. Hammer was a lifelong Collin County resident. She was a lab technician for T.I. and also a devoted worker for various grocery store food demonstrations. Before working for T.I. she worked at Texas Textile Mill in McKinney. Mrs. Hammer attended Davis Street, Westside, High Pointe and Carlisle Street Churches of Christ and the Grace Fellowship Church all in McKinney. She is survived by daughters, Brenda Goforth and husband, Bill of Richardson and Linda Hunnicutt and husband, Gary of Plano, Texas; grandchildren (who were the joy of her life) Eric Hunnicutt and wife, Karen of Frisco, Texas and Tim Hunnicutt of Plano; brothers, Thomas Clell Jones and wife, Pat of Plano, Texas, Bob Jones and wife, Peggy of McKinney; sister, Alta Gracy of Terrell, Texas; sister-in-law, Mamie Hammer of McKinney; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer; brother, J.W. Jones, Norman Jones; and sister, Peggy Reno. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2006, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m., prior to the service at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Home.
