Helen Louise Hart

On March 17, 2008, Helen Louise Hart, 73, entered into eternal rest after a 20 year battle with cancer. She is survived by her three daughters, Deborah Whittaker, Terri Martinez and Linda Hart; her three siblings, Ida Nybo, Donald Fredericksen, and Pat Tucker; three grandchildren, Shannon Bond, Justin Whittaker, and Samantha Martinez; and two great-grandchildren, Sean and Kaiti Bond. Born in Ainsworth, Nebraska and raised on a working farm owned by her parents, Chris and Clara Fredericksen, the family relocated to Miles City, Montana. After graduating from Custer County High School she enlisted in the U.S. Navy where she met her husband John D. Hart. Retiring from the military in 1972, John and Helen made their home in Coventry, RI. They became successful business owners of three Wicks N Sticks stores in Warwick RI, Burlington MA and Nashville TN. After the passing of her husband, Helen relocated to Brentwood TN where she was a devoted volunteer with the American Red Cross. In 1996 she earned the prestigious Sara Cannon Humanitarian Award. Her final move was to McKinney, TX in 2001 to live closer to her two daughters and family. Helen will forever be remembered as a devoted wife and mother, a woman of courage, great heart, and the love for life. Friends and family will gather for viewing on Monday, March 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home, Hwy 75 & Exit 38- Ridgeview Dr., McKinney/Allen, TX. Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at 10:00 AM, at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, 110 St. Gabriel Way, McKinney, TX 75071. She will be laid to rest at Ridgeview Memorial Park. A celebration in honor of Helen’s life will follow immediately at Hanks Texas Grill, 1310 N. Central Expressway, McKinney, TX 75069. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
