Helen J. Harrison age 87, of McKinney, Texas passed away on January 24, 2009. She was born on March 27, 1921 in Ashburn, Georgia to John and Ruby Jernigan. She grew up in Birmingham, Alabama where she married Daniel T. Harrison, Jr. on January 17, 1941. They later moved to Anniston, Alabama where they lived for 40 years. Helen worked at Noble Army Hospital at Fort McClellan as a physical therapy assistant. Helen and Dan moved to Texas in 1997 to be closer to family. Helen enjoyed reading, cooking, and spending time with her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of McKinney as well as the Red Hat Society. Helen is survived by her daughters, Sue Embry and husband John of McKinney, Texas and Beth Barrett and husband Ron of Plano, Texas; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Hilda Grimwood and husband Jim of Houston, Texas; and many other extended family and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother. Interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama. A Memorial service will be held at a later date in McKinney, Texas.
