In memory of our loving wife and mother. Mrs. Helen C. Hanes, Ph.D., age 76, of McKinney, Texas passed away December 29, 2004, at her home. She was born November 23, 1928, in Dallas, Texas to Hugh Sylvester and Grace Maureen (Hendon) Chancey. On March 18, 1967, she married Rowan Leon Hanes in Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Hanes was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma SMU Delta Chapter. She earned a doctorate in Psychology and was a member of the American Psychological Association and the Texas Psychological Association. She is survived by her husband, Rowan Hanes of McKinney; daughters, Jane C. Cox of McKinney and Suzanne Kneale and husband, Jim of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son, Richard H. Scott of Austin, Texas; step-daughter, Valarie Leland and husband, Frank of Carrollton, Texas; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; and sister, Margaret Bard of San Jose, California. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 3, 2005, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Richard Gatto officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
