Funeral services for Helen Maurine Jacobs Brassfield, 104 year old Canton resident (formerly of Leonard), are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday December 9, 2011 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard. Charles E. Wrenn will officiate. Burial will be in the Leonard Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Friday December 9th. Mrs. Brassfield was born December 1, 1907 at Leonard. Her parents were Newton Miller and Sarah Allie Bailey Jacobs. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Leonard. She was saved at an early age, always attended church services and wanted all of her friends and family to be saved. She was a big kidder, loved flowers and working in her flower bed. She also loved to fish, garden and can foods. She loved her family and taught many of her great nieces and nephews to play various games. She is survived by 1 niece: Luda Mae Medley of Leonard; one nephew and his wife: Harold & Jean Jacobs of Canton; several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 husbands: Estel Littlepage, John Hill and Willard Brassfield; 1 son: Y.B. Littlepage; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law: Hubert and Gertrue Jacobs and Lois Jacobs; 1 sister and brother-in-law: Lura and Roy Medley; 1 niece and nephew: Helen and Troy Baber. Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home of Leonard is in charge of arrangements.
