Hazel Jean Mitchum, age 84, of McKinney, Texas passed away October 21, 2010. She was born April 3, 1926 in Clint, Texas to Benjamin Franklin Province and Florence (Landau) Province. On February 14, 1947 she married Milton Harvey Mitchum, Jr. in El Paso, Texas. Hazel grew up in Clint, Texas. She was a dental technician for many years. Hazel enjoyed shopping, gardening and spending time with her kids and grandkids. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Beard and husband, Ray of McKinney, Texas; granddaughter, Paula Blayney and husband, Troy of McKinney, Texas; grandsons, Chris Britner of California, Roderick Britner of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Steve Britner of Syracuse, New York; granddaughter, Lacey Stevenson of McKinney, Texas; grandson, Joey Mitchum of Corpus Christi, Texas; great-grandson, Tré Blayney of McKinney, Texas and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton H. Mitchum; daughter, Sherry Ann Stevenson and son, John Milton Mitchum. Graveside services will be held at 2:15 p.m., Monday, October 25, 2010 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas with Dr. Danny Buster officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
