Harvey Lawrance Spivey, formerly of Austin and Houston, Texas, passed away on November 12, 2013, in McKinney, Texas. He was born August 28, 1923 in Madisonville, Texas, to Leonard Lawrance and Fanny Laura (Winn) Spivey. On October 12, 1963, Harvey married Gladys Gardner in Channelview, Texas. He proudly served his country during World War II, in the United States Air Force.  Harvey worked for Southwestern Bell in Houston and Austin for 35 years. He was a former minister and musician. Harvey was a member of Life Central Church in Plano, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Spivey of McKinney, Texas; children, Mary Nell Davis and husband Rev. Lynn Davis of Conroe, Texas, Betty Lou Tucker and husband Dan of Allen, Texas, James Paul Spivey and wife Luann of Round Rock, Texas; grandchildren, Danny Davis, Melinda Davis, Jeremy Ault, Laura Ault Perez, Sara Tucker, Kaitlin Lamb and Gage Lamb; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Nicholas Davis and Lala Perez; siblings, Ruby Spikes of Crosby, Texas, Maurice Novosad of Sugarland, Texas and Ray Spivey of Madisonville, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

Harvey is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Lawrance and Fanny Laura Spivey; brothers, Daniel B. Spivey, Cecil Spivey and Glennis Spivey; and sister, Eunice Spivey.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday afternoon at Allphin Cemetery, in Midway, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
