Harold E. Kleweno died May 1, 2010 at McKinney Healthcare Center, in McKinney, Texas. He was born February 19, 1918 to Jacob and Christina (Schwindt) Kleweno in Bison, Kansas. Harold married his high school sweetheart, Louriene Frazier in April 1939. They resided in Bison, KS until 1976 when they moved toModesto, CA. While living in Kansas he was engaged in farming and was an irrigation water well contractor for many years. He also owned and operated a recreation hall and grocery store in Bison. After moving to Modesto he owned a Quick Stop convenience store which he operated until he retired in 1982. During retirement he was a walnut grader for his brother-in-law, Jim Frazier, at the Frazier Nut Farm and Walnut Processing Plant in Waterford, CA. He worked there every year during the walnut and almond harvest until 2003 when he and Louriene moved to McKinney, TX to be near their daughter and family. Harold’s hobby was playing cards and games of any kind, and he was a master bridge player. Harold always served others with a big heart, and was dearly loved by all who knew him. He is survived by his daughter, Janet Carr and son-in-law Rex of McKinney, TX; son, Dennis Kleweno of San Diego, CA; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Christina, siblings, Alvin Kleweno, Merle Kleweno, and Clara Kleweno, and granddaughter, Melanie Carr. A private family service will be held at a later date in California. Harold’s cremains will be laid to rest with those of his late wife, Louriene, in Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson, CA. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Alzheimer Association, www.alz.com, 800-272-3900, or a charity of your choice.
