Harold R. Grindle

Harold R. Grindle, age 91, of McKinney, Texas, passed away January 11, 2014, in McKinney. Harold was born July 23, 1922, in Dixie, Louisiana, to Rufus Hobson and Katie (Custer) Grindle. He married Arline Chambers McKinney on March 6, 1962, in Dallas, Texas. Harold proudly served in the United States Marines during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was a sales representative for The Lone Star Company for many years where he retired. Harold was a former member of the Lions Club of McKinney. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of McKinney and a former member of Lover’s Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas. Harold was the primary caregiver for his wife, Arline, for ten years.

He is survived by his daughter, Patty McWilliams and husband, Stan of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Tim McWilliams and wife, Erika, Elizabeth Brown and husband, Paul, Jennifer McCullough and husband, Kevin, Jimmy Rash and wife, Lisa, Jason Rash and wife, Karen, Kim Carr and husband, Leonard, and John Rash and wife, Sherri; twelve great-grandchildren; and sister, Alice Martin of Greenville, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Arline, daughter, Wayna Jean Rash, sister, Helen Janssen, and brother, Herman Grindle.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at First United Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
