IN LOVING MEMORY

Hannah Helen Hasslen

Dec 01 2001 - Nov 01 2010

Hannah Helen Hasslen, age 8, of Allen, Texas passed away November 1, 2010. Joy is now Hannah's song as she is present with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Hannah was born December 1, 2001 in Plano, Texas to Bill & Amy Hasslen. She was an absolute sweetheart who was smart beyond her years, feisty, talkative, creative beyond imagine, sometimes a stinker & the most beautiful little girl who has touched lives across the globe during her life and journey! She loved Jesus and relied upon Him for strength during her life long challenge with severe food allergies and in her courageous battle with liver cancer! Hannah actively participated in church at Allen Bible Church and Chase Oaks Church where she enjoyed having fellowship and conversation with kids of all ages and her teachers. She was in 3rd grade and attended N-Tech Home School Co-op and Friday School at THEO. Hannah loved Girl Scouts and was a member of Troop #685 in Allen. She was involved in various sports in her short life such as golf, cheerleading, soccer & played last winter at Upwards basketball. Hannah's two personal passions were animals and little children. She loved all animals especially dogs and wanted to grow up to be a veterinarian. Playing, watching over and praying for little children gave her real pleasure and joy even in her weakest days and will be one of the family's greatest memories of Hannah's sweet spirit! She is survived by her parents, Bill and Amy Hasslen of Allen, Texas; brother, Jacob Hasslen of Allen, Texas; dog, Baxter of Allen, Texas; grandparents, Wade and Penny Dyer of Lucas, Texas, Joan Hasslen of Ortonville, Minnesota; aunt Emily Dyer of Lucas, Texas and aunts and uncles, Jim and Kathy Hasslen of Ortonville, Minnesota and their children, Rachelle and Josh, Rich and Jenn Hasslen of Bellevue, Nebraska and their children, Eli and Olivia. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, David Hasslen, Ortonville, Minnesota. The family will receive friends for a viewing and visitation Thursday, November 4th, from 6-8 pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow funeral home in Allen. Hannah's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 5th, at First Baptist Church of Allen with Gordon McDaniel and Buddy Liles officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, TX. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Hannah, donations can be made to the ministry of Samaritan's Purse--Operation Christmas Child which Hannah enjoyed & participated with each year at https://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/OCC/EZ_Give_Donations
