Halbert Wesley Blurton

Mr. Halbert Wesley Blurton, age 93, of McKinney, TX passed away August 21, 2006 in Dallas, Texas. He was born August 8, 1913, in McKinney, Texas to Edgar and Ida Bell (Potter) Blurton. On October 7, 1939 he married Mattie Lena Dawson in McKinney, Texas. Mr. Blurton served his country as a US Army Staff Sgt in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He worked as an automobile mechanic in McKinney for a number of years. After a brief retirement, he began working part-time for the City of McKinney. A former member of North Baptist Church, he recently joined Anna United Methodist Church. He is survived by his sons Jerry and his wife Nancy of Houston, TX and Billy and his wife Marla of Cedar Hill, TX; grandchildren Matthew and his wife Ashley of Houston, TX, Michael and his wife Ashley of Dallas, TX, Carrie of Nashville, TN, Amy Bradshaw and her husband Jody of Westminister, TX, Bradley and wife Ginger of Canton, TX, Kenneth of Westminister, TX and Ashley Exum of Cedar Hill, TX; great-grandchildren Justin, Krystyna, Jade, Brittany, Wesley, and Ellery; special friend Wyvette Estes of Anna, TX; and a number of other family and friends. Preceding him in death were his wife of 51 years, Mattie Lena, great-grandchild Halee Bradshaw, his parents, seven brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 24, 2006, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Bob Turk and Rev Danny Buster officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
