IN LOVING MEMORY

Glidewell T. Fletcher

Mar 08 1926 - Aug 06 2013

Our sweet, loving, mischievous Dad, G. T. Fletcher, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 6, 2013. He longed to be in heaven with our Mom, Juanice--his Baby-Doll.   She preceded him in death on November 22, 2006.

Dad was born on March 8, 1926 to Robert Harrison and Jimmie Cornelius Fletcher in the small community of Georgetown near Fink, Texas. After graduating from Denison High School he went on to serve in the United States Army where he saw action in Germany until the end of WWII.

Dad was a good Christian man who served his church for over 40 years as Deacon. He loved people and liked to make them laugh with his quick wit and funny jokes. He was a strict disciplinarian, but loved his family and friends wholeheartedly and never hesitated to tell them so. Dad worked for Texas Power & Light Company until 1986 after 40 years of service.

G. T. is survived by two daughters and one son; Cheryl Langley and husband Randy of Azle, Texas; Sonja Rhea and husband Bob of McKinney, Texas; and Kevin Fletcher of Prosper, Texas. Grendad is survived by five grandchildren; Jeremy Landrum and wife Patricia, Jason Rhea and wife Casey, Heather Rhea, Andrew Fletcher and Adam Sutton and wife Belinda and four great grandchildren, Elisabeth, Gabriella, Madelynn, and Joshua Landrum.

Preceding him in death are his wife and parents, brothers Alvie and Eagleton Fletcher and Son-in-law Jack Bateman.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2013 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home.

A very special “Thank You” goes to Stonefield Assisted Living Staff, Right at Home Caregivers, Amity Hospice Staff and Senior Select Staff. You are such exceptional people that made our Dad feel special.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Waddill Street Baptist Church Building Fund. The address is 1401 N. Waddill Street, McKinney, TX 75069.
