Funeral services for Glenn Johnson “Johnsie” Savage, 74 year old McKinney resident, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday April 1, 2009 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard. Charles Wrenn will officiate. Burial will be in the Leonard Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 until 9 p.m. Tuesday March 31st. Mr. Savage was born February 27, 1935 at Leonard, Texas. His parents were Glenn E. and Ruby Mae Johnson Savage. Mr. Savage died Saturday March 28th at Durant, Oklahoma. He was a retired administrator in public education. He earned his B.A. at East Texas State University at Commerce and his M.A. from the University of North Texas at Denton. He was a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association and the Church of Church. He was a former member of the Lions Club and the Hurricane Creek Country Club. He is survived by his wife: Elva Jo Jackson Savage of McKinney, Texas; his sons: Steven Glenn Savage of North Platte, Nebraska and Robert Lee Savage of McKinney, Texas; his grandchildren: Steven Randall Savage of Nacogdoches, Texas, Tammy Lynn Savage of Gainesville, Texas, Rob and Allen Carmon of Gainesville, Texas; his aunt: Jaylene Lovette of Bowie, Texas. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents: Glenn E. Savage and Rubye Mae Savage Culberson and by one great-grandchild.
