Glenn Edwin Ison

Glenn Edwin Ison, age 78, of Fairview, Texas, passed away March 28, 2013, in Plano, Texas. Glenn was born August 24, 1934, in Berwyn, Illinois. Glenn proudly served in the United States Air Force where he flew 25 missions over North Korea as a tailgunner on B29 aircraft in 1953. He married Judy Moses on September 3, 1985, in Plano, Texas. Glenn was an electrical engineer for a number of years. While living in Fresno, California, he was president of the Lion’s Club. Glenn loved model airplanes, assembling and flying them.  He was also a member of the Flyboy’s Club in Heritage Ranch. Glenn and Judy were charter members of the Collin County Rose Society.

He is survived by his wife Judy Ison, of Fairview, Texas; children, Vicki Lawless and husband Greg, of McKinney, Texas, Theresa Ison of Seminole, Florida, Kathryn Ison-Mansco and husband Kenneth, also of Seminole, Nick Moses and wife Stephanie, of McKinney, and Darien Orr and husband Bill, of Denton, Texas; grandchildren, Claire Ison, Chloe Moore, Cooper Moore, William Orr, Hartlee Orr, and Evan Moses; brother, Ernest Ison; and nephews, John Ison and Paul Ison.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.

While undergoing treatment for cancer, Glenn contracted meningitis. The family strongly urges people to wear masks in public places, especially in medical facilities, while undergoing treatment.
