Glenn Charles Hardin

Glenn C. Hardin of McKinney, TX, 77, passed away peacefully at his home on July 14, 2015 after a long and courageous fight. . He was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and Northeast Louisiana State College in Monroe, LA.  Glenn proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a volunteer with the Dallas Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a mentor at Caldwell Elementary School in McKinney, and a member of First United Methodist Church. Glenn was deeply loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elaine Sommers Hardin; son, Taylor Hardin and wife Marcy; daughter, Allison Gage and husband Joe; grandchildren, Thomas Lane Hardin and Rosey Hardin, Casey Cheyenne Gage and Cody Grace Gage; brother, Billy Hardin and wife Diane; sister, Linda Caston and husband Sid; brother-in-law, Deacon Tom Sommers and wife Gloria; sister-in-law, Susan Sommers Behm and husband Dick; and numerous relatives and friends.

Glenn was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lane Hardin; mother, Thelma Riddle Hardin and father, Glenn F. Hardin.

Visitation will be at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home, 1515 North Central Expressway, Allen, TX, from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 17.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, ­­­ July 18, 2015 at First United Methodist  Church, 315 North Church Street, McKinney, TX 75069. A reception will follow in the Dyer Hall. The family will receive friends during a visitation Friday, July 17, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas 75013.  

A celebration of Glenn's life will also be held in Baton Rouge, LA at a later date.
