Glenda Newell Barrett, age 67, of Garland, Texas, passed away December 10, 2015. Glenda was born July 16, 1948, in Sherman, Texas, to Hal G. and Margaret (Richards) Newell. She married Glen Barrett on August 2, 1967, in Sherman. Glenda attended Southeastern Oklahoma State. She was employed with Netscout for twenty years in human resources and Texas Instruments prior to that for ten years. Glenda was very involved in her church, Crosspoint in McKinney. She was a Bible leader in BSF. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Glen Barrett of Garland, Texas; daughter, Lori Carlisle and husband, Jason also of Garland; son, Jeff Barrett and wife, Mary of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Morgan Clarke, Parker Barrett, Laney Barrett, and Tucker Carlisle; siblings, Hal “Bubba” G. Newell of York, Pennsylvania, Debbie Rogers and husband, Phil of Whitehouse, Texas, Mike Newell of Palestine, Texas, and Tim Newell and wife, Dena, of Aledo, Texas; and nieces and nephews, Corey Newell, Shannon Newell, Scott Conner, Halle Newell and Max Newell.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Crosspoint Church, 2101 S. Stonebridge Dr., McKinney, Texas, 75070. A remembrance gathering will be held from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2015, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
