Gladys Pauline Richardson, age 89, of McKinney, Texas, passed away November 28, 2009, in McKinney. Gladys was born March 21, 1920, to Roy E. and Minnie P. (Gallion) Whitson. She married A. Victor Richardson on February 24, 1938 in Lebanon, Missouri. Gladys graduated from Elkland High School in Elkland, Missouri. She was a member of the International Society of Poets, the American Red Cross in Clay County, Missouri, the Hill Top Garden Club, and volunteered for the American Cancer Society. Gladys was also a member of Liberty United Methodist Church in Liberty, Missouri and First United Methodist Church in McKinney. She is survived by her daughters, Denelda Cobb and Cheryl Esbrook, both of McKinney, Texas; three grandchildren, David W. Cobb, Brian Cobb, and Lesa Slay; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Russell E. Whitson of Ozark, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, A. Victor Richardson in 1978, brother, Leland Whitson, and sister, Florine Miley. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Dr. James B. Palmer, Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation thirty minutes prior to the service. A chapel service will take place at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 4, 2009, at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Columbia, Missouri with Rev. Pauletta Klimson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Liberty United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
